Access Description: The quarry is adjacent to and on the northern side of the road in lot 10, 1.6 km east of the CNR crossing.



Exploration History

The quarries were operated for lime production by the Jamieson Lime Company. An old lime kiln and three abandoned quarries occur here.

Lithology Comments

May 13, 2013 (A Wilson) - Three quarries were once in production at the site. The quarries range from 10 to 20 feet in depth. The limestone is described a coarsely crystalline, impure, grey, Grenville dolomite and medium-grained bluish grey calcium. Bands of hornblende gneiss are exposed in the third quarry.

Mineralization Comments

May 13, 2013 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by Goudge assayed 0.70% Fe2O3, 4.90% Al2O3, 0.04 Ca3(PO4)2, 86.73 CaCO3 and 5.46% MgCO3. Lime was produced at this site.
