Aug 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - Mineralization is hosted within a northeast trending dike of pink granite pegmatite that is at least 25 feet wide and 100 feet long. It is hosted by paragneisses lying north of the Hurd Lake granite mass. Masson et al noted that a number of pegmatites were observed in the area.

Aug 31, 2011 (A Wilson) - A grab sample collected by J.S. Dempsey from a shallow pit in the pegmatite showed radioactivity of 0.02% U3O8 equivalent. OGS sample R-78-112-1 returned 520 ppm U3O8, 420 ppm Th and 410 ppm Ce. OGS sample R-78-112-2 returned 125 ppm U3O8, 280 ppm Th and 210 ppm Ce. Pegmatite at the Dempsey pits gave readings that averaged 20,000 to 30,000 cpm and as high as 70 000 cpm (T1) OGS sample R-78-112-3 was collected from a similar pegmatite located to the east. This sample returned 460 ppm U3O8, 600 ppm Th and 90 ppm Ce. Pegmatite at this location gave readings up to 50 000 cpm (T1).
