Feb 20, 2013 (A Wilson) - The pegmatite is a dike which trends 170° in the workings and curves to the northeast, and dips vertically in the main pit and steeply west to the north of this pit. The dike is zoned into a quartz-feldspar border zone, an intermediate zone of large crushed microcline and albite crystals surrounded by quartz and graphic granite and a milky white quartz core. A few chloritized biotite books occur in the intermediate zone. To the north the pegmatite narrows and becomes quartz-feldspar intergrowth with small segregations of quartz. About 45 m down strike from the workings the dike pinches out. The host rock is grey hornblende-biotite gneiss trending 045° to 060° and dipping about 20°S.E.

Feb 20, 2013 (A Wilson) - In August, 1943, the quarry was idle, and it is believed all the minable feldspar has been removed. The only pure material present was a mass of white glassy quartz 20 by 15 feet exposed at the north end of the quarry with a little pure microcline adjacent to it. Most of the material exposed is rich in quartz. Much of the mass has been crushed and recemented with quartz, which also occurs as drusy crystals up to 1 inch across lining vugs. Large crushed sheets of biotite up to 2 feet in width have been almost completely altered to chlorite. A little pink-streaked, grey to white soda feldspar is present. Much of the pink feldspar especially in the strippings and pits to the north, is a graphic intergrowth.
