Geology Comments

Dec 09, 2015 (R Degagne) - Regional compilation studies indicate that the deposit is hosted by a distinctive felsic marker horizon located near the top of the weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) (Archean) Stoughton-Roquemaure Group, south of the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. Bedrock hosting the deposit occupies part of the north limb of the east striking and east plunging Blake River Synclinorium. A recent electromagnetic survey of Currie Township indicated the bedrock stratigraphy in the showing area to be east northeast striking. The deposit is reported (assessment and exploration files) to be located on the southern limb of a 035º striking syncline which a drilling compilation map indicates has been isoclinally folded by locally developed (parasitic?) folds which have an apparent period of about 100 feet and which display north striking and subvertically dipping axial surfaces. Supracrustal rocks in the area have been intruded by at least 2 sets of generally north striking diabase dikes (at least one of which probably belongs to the (Proterozoic according to Heaman 1989) Matachewan swarm) and by a northeast striking (Proterozoic) Abitibi olivine diabase dike.

Lithology Comments

Dec 09, 2015 (R Degagne) - Base and precious metal mineralization of the Tillex deposit is covered by variable thicknesses of locally complex glacial deposits. Exploration diamond drilling and rotasonic overburden drilling indicate that the sulfide mineralization is hosted by weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) subaqueously deposited mafic to felsic volcanic, pyroclastic, variably graphitic interflow sedimentary rocks, and intrusive felsic bodies.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 09, 2015 (A Wilson) - The Tillex mineral resource largely occurs within 150 metres of surface beneath approximately 30 metres of overburden. Drill intercepts include 102.3 metres grading 1.45% copper starting at 31.7 metres in the hole. This near surface mineralization may be mineable by open pit methods; however, more definition drilling is required to prove continuity of the mineralization. The favourable strata are open along strike to the northeast and only a few holes have tested for mineralization at depth. Highlights of the Metals Creek 2008 diamond drilling program include 1.94% Cu over 97.05 m, including 2.583% Cu over 37.05 m in DDH TX08-002; 81.13 m intercept of 1.83% Cu, including 2.73% Cu over 27.0 m in DDH TX08-004; and 1.29% Cu over 71.49 m, including 34.29m grading 2.16% Cu in TX08-005. An 8 hole DDH program completed in 2011 returned assays including 1.43% Cu, 6.78g/t Ag within 150 m of surface. A drill hole from a second drill program retuned values up to 1.65% Cu and 33.23 g/t Ag, including a higher grade intercept of 5.29% Cu and 355 g/t Ag over 5 m in TX11-008. The chalcopyrite mineralization is mainly in the form of stringers and fine disseminations along with occasional round nodules, associated with quartz-feldspar stringers and veinlets. Chalcopyrite is also found in stringer form in dacite tuffs adjacent to the argillites.

Dec 09, 2015 (R Degagne) - Information in the assessment and exploration files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake and in Thompson indicates that nearly 14,000 feet of diamond drilling has outlined 'blind' copper mineralization which was located by integrated programs of geophysical surveying and overburden drilling. Diamond drilling is reported to have delineated sulfide mineralization which measures about 1,200 x 165 feet in size. Tillex drill logs indicate that the copper (zinc, lead, silver, and gold) mineralization occurs as variably developed lenses, seams, balls, concretions, and disseminations of pyrite and chalcopyrite. The sulfide mineralization is hosted by northeast striking, folded, variably sheared, and variably carbonaceous (graphitic) interflow argillite which is hosted by mafic to felsic volcanic and tuffaceous rocks. Felsic intrusive bodies are interpreted to occur in the area. Pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, and galena are also indicated in the Tillex drill logs to occur along fractures and may be associated with quartz and quartz-carbonate veinlets and stringers within argillite, within felsic volcanic rocks, and within and marginal to felsic sills and dikes which intrude all supracrustal rocks in the area.

Notes: The grades and thicknesses of the copper sulphide mineralization are reported (NMI card 42A/10 Cu1) to be best developed near felsic intrusive rocks, near domains of hydrothermal alteration (of unspecified type), and near hinge areas of (north striking D2?) folds. Selected mineralized drill core intersections reported in the assessment files include: 21 feet averaging 1.33% of copper, 21 feet averaging 0.72% of copper, 53 feet averaging 2.00% copper, 31 feet averaging 1.2% copper, 36 feet averaging 2.2% copper, and 27 feet averaging 1.9% copper. These core intersections were obtained from subcropping bedrock beneath 25-100 feet of overburden. As much as 0.60 ounce of gold per ton across a 3.5 foot core length and assays as high as 8.46 ounce of silver per ton are reported in the assessment diamond drill logs. Drilling also intersected material assaying as much as 0.40% of lead and 1.15% of zinc.
