Jun 09, 2021 (Therese Pettigrew) - In the Big Pit Area, the westerly trench shown consists of 4" to 25" quartz veining in a 6' banded iron formation consisting of magnetite, heavy arsenopyrite and pyrrhotite. The trench fills up readily with nearby swamp water and samples have to be taken upon pumping and cleaning off the surface. The A.M. vein consists of a banded iron formation ranging from 3' to 14' wide with h " to l" bands of arsenopyrite and in places heavy rusted arsenopyrite and magnetite associated with the injected quartz. Sediments lie just to the north of the showing and volcanics to the south. Extensive stripping and trenching was done in 1992 and drilled and blasted in 1993 as shown on attached map. In the central part of the vein structure of quartz and heavy arsenopyrite slope into a water filled trench 6' deep/ 10' wide and 30' long (Assessment report 42E12NE0157). A sample taken from the Big Pit in 1993 returned 1.54 ppm Au (Assessment report 42E12SW8100). An extension to the Big Pit area returned up to 1.64 ppm Au in 1992 (Assessment report 42E12NE0161). Byron's Vein is an iron formation containing in places abundant arsenopyrite and magnetite with minor pyrite in mafic volcanics. Sampling in 1993-94 returned up to 23.67 g/t Au (Assessment report 42E12NE0048). DDH MK08-02 (near Sandra’s Pit) returned up to 1.42 g/t Au over 0.8 m (Assessment report 20000003442). DDH MK08-03 returned up to 2.4 g/t Au over 0.7 m from a banded iron formation with quartz and carbonate veinlets. DDH MK08-05 returned up to 4.0 g/t Au over 1.1 m from a BIF with quartz and carbonate veinlets, tourmaline, disseminated pyrrhotite and coarse grained arsenopyrite. DDH MK08-07 returned up to 5.8 g/t Au over 0.6 m from a BIF with quartz and carbonate veinlets, disseminated pyrrhotite, and fine to medium-grained arsenopyrite (Assessment report 20000006052).
