Geology Comments

Mar 27, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - The Shaft Zone B gold deposit was discovered by Societe Miniere Mimiska Inc. during a 1987-88 exploration program that was carried out by the company in the Harold Lake ares. The Shaft Zone B (also known as the Trail Zone) deposit was explored on surface and tested at depth through a 13 hole diamond drilling program. This gold mineralized zone is located in the tonalite-metavolcanic rock contact zone, strikes 340 degrees, and covers a strike length of at least 500 m. This zone parallels the structure (Shaft Zone A) that hosts the past-producing Lakeshore and McComber veins at the Harold Lake Mine site. All of the diamond drill holes that targeted the Shaft Zone B structure encountered intersections of anomalous gold mineralization, with the most significant being 0.33 oz/ton over 9.5 feet (Larouche and Clark 1988; Clark 1998).
