Access Description: This sample represents a deposit about 1/4 ml wide, situated about 1/2 ml E of Prescott and extending along the St. Lawrence nearly to Windmill Point.
Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A sample of clay (#703) was taken to a 12 ft depth from surface in the steep bank of the river. The total depth of the deposit is 16 ft. This is ordinary grey, massive Champlain Clay, very plastic and smooth when wet. It is suitable for making drain tile as well as brick, but though these will dry in air they will crack with artificial heat.
