Access Description: From Perth, south on country road 1 for 4 km. Site is approximatley 260 m north of highway next to Jebbs Creek.



Exploration History

Circa 1870 : mica was found underlying a farmhouse (in the cellar) and garden and so a 10 x 10 x 4 ft. deep pit was put in 10 ft. in front of the house by Gibson and Hayes. Subsequently, L. Gemmell worked the deposit for 4 months and extracted ' a few tons ' of trimmed mica.

Lithology Comments

Sep 16, 2015 (A Wilson) - A phlogopite mica deposit, apparently associated with pyroxene and apatite, appears to have pinched out at depth. It was dark and crushed - of poor quality.
