Lithology Comments

Feb 03, 2017 (A Wilson) - Mineralization occurs within a 7 foot thick sill of medium grained biotite-hornblende granite. Zircon and thorite occur in granite exposed for 100 feet in an open cut. The granite sill is 0-4 feet wide and cuts marble. Radioactive minerals occur in a granite sill 7 feet thick cutting biotite amphibolite. The sill has been traced for 250 feet in length.

Mineralization Comments

Feb 03, 2017 (A Wilson) - At the bottom of the open cut a highly radioactive skarn horizon was found. A thickness of 4 feet is exposed but the bottom is not visible, so it may be much thicker. The spectrometer indicates a uranium content of 0.046% uranium (0.054% U308) and 0.026% thorium. Assays of two chip samples from here are .010 and 0.015% U3O8. Elsewhere in the pit, a spectrometer value of 0.084% uranium was found and in the dump a vjalue of 0.074%, in both cases with much lower thorium. Satterly also reported radioactivity in zircon leucogranite. Drill core samples assayed 0.018% to 0.36% U3O8 over narrow widths. One sample also returned an assay of 4.22% ZrO2
