Point Location Description: Shaft symbol just east of property symbol 12, lot 20 concession VII.

Location Method: AMIS Site Visit

Access Description: From Hwy 121, east of Tory Hill, drive south on Old Hadlington Road keeping left past hunt camp following the rough ATV trail past powerline and across swamp and creek to fork to right. Under power line, follow track to shaft no.1 on hill to right of trail.



Exploration History

1948: Lead Ura Mines Limited - trenching and bulk sampling. 1955-57: Amalgamated Rare Earth Mines Limited - DD-36,434 ft. and adit in the Main zone with 493 feet of drifting and 343 feet of cross-cutting; a vertical, 3-compartment shaft to 657 feet with levels at 120, 240, 360, 480 and 630 feet; underground work amounting to 2449 feet of drifts and 1137 feet of cross-cuts. 1968: Amalgamated Rare Earth Mines Limited - scintillometer survey.

Lithology Comments

Jan 26, 2017 (A Wilson) - Of six radioactive showings, only the Main Zone has warranted underground development. Uraniferous ore shoots are found in granite or granite pegmatite bodies intruding diopside quartzite and, and forming elongate lenses or narrow dikes from a few to several hundred feet long.
