Point Location Description: Point on Hwy 507, 0.8 km south of Gooderham.

Access Description: This road cut is actually on the east side of Hwy 507, 0.6 km south of its junction with Hwy 503 (in Gooderham).
Mineral location : scapolite (mauve-greyish blue-colourless), some gem quality was formerly obtained here. Also : brown-green tourmaline, clinoamphibole, apatite, clinopyroxene, serpentine, mica, pyrite, pyrrhotite, graphite and sphalerite.

Jan 22, 2017 (A Wilson) - Scapolite, tourmaline and associated minerals are found in marble. There is not too much 'purple scapolite' left now. There may be some in the woods, thrown up by blasting, The purple colour fades in sunlight. Also, check the upper faces on the left side of the cut.
