Lithology Comments

Aug 03, 2011 (A Wilson) - The graphitic zone is approximately 2500 m long with a maximum width of 300 m. The graphite horizon strikes northeast and has been traced over a strike length of 2800 feet. The graphite horizon varies approximately between 200 and 500 feet in thickness and dips 30 to 35° to the south. A geophysical anomaly was identified on a zone in the vicinity of McGuire Lake in 1992. Follow up diamond drilling took place on this zone in 1992-1999.

Mineralization Comments

Aug 03, 2011 (A Wilson) - The paragneiss often contains up to 3% flake graphite near the contact with marbles. Disseminated graphite, up to 5% also is found in the marble. The graphite occurs as moderately to strongly orientated flakes. There appears to be a correlation between the original clast size, graphite flake size and graphite concentration. Disseminated pyrite is commonly found as a minor constituent of the graphitic horizons. The greatest thickness of graphitic material occurs in the vicinity of a broad structural flexure. The horizon thins rapidly both east and west of the flexure with the graphite becoming more restricted to form distinct upper and lower units with a consistent central waste parting. The McGuire East Zone extends over a strike length of 1000 feet and has a width of approximately 600 feet. The estimated true thickness of the graphitic zone is 150 feet. Graphitic mineralization in this zone is in excess of 1.5% graphite with 60-70% medium to coarse flakes. The East McGuire Zone is estimated to have an unclassified resource of 8.4 million tons grading approximately 2.2% graphite.
