Aug 26, 2011 (A Wilson) - Marble and paragneiss are interbedded in this area. The thickness of the units could not be determined but is probable that the marble belts consist of several units of varying purity to make up a group a few tens of metres wide, separated from the next group by a few meter wide unit of gneiss. The marble is both dolomitic and calcitic and it changes over relatively short distances.
