Sep 09, 2011 (A Wilson) - Gull River Formation: interbedded silty dolostone, lithographic to tine crystalline limestone, oolitic limestone, shale, and fine-grained calcareous quartz sandstone. The limestone contains numerous white carbonate stringers parallel to the bedding, which trends east and west and dips 55°S. In 1944, the quarry was 600 feet long and from 25 to 100 feet wide. The face was from 3 to 20 feet high.
Sep 09, 2011 (A Wilson) - The material was quarried for road metal. An unknown amount of material was removed.
