Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - A pink, zoned , discordant quartz monzonite pegmatite (hosted in gneiss) is exposed in a series of cuts (over 1,000 ft) in a hillside. It is roughly 12 m wide but variable and there is a tapering spur at 90 degrees to the main body. The intermediate zone (microcline quartz) appears to be the part mined. See MDC 22 for a detailed description.
