Mineralization Comments

Apr 22, 2009 (A Wilson) - Wedges of graphic granite were observed in the microcline and these wedges appear to form 25-50% of the feldspar masses. Some chloritzed biotite and a few crystals of altered allanite were observed. The uraninite and thocolite occur mainly along the walls of the pegmatite together with altered radiating crystals of chloritized hornblende. Allanite and crytolite are present in the centre of the dike. Samples of the pegmatite collected by Trio Uranium Mines Ltd. returned 0.212% U3O8, 0.34% Cb2O5 over 2 feet, 0.190% U3O8 , 0.24% Cb2O5 over 1 foot and 0.182% U3O8 , 0.30% Cb2O5 over 1.5 feet. A concentrate panned from the deposit in 1943, contained 8.09% Pb, 79.3% U3O8, 1.73% ThO2, and 2.87% rare earth oxides.
