Geology Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (G Bennett) - The general geology in this section is similar to the Gowganda series, consisting of coarse granite pebbled conglomerate; pink and some grey quartzites and slates cut by sills of diabase and large intrusions of coarse gabbro. Specifically, a large mass of gabbro, having a length of six miles and with a maximum width of one mile, lies roughly parallel and three-quarters of a mile south of a mutliple quartz vein system which occurs in two main breaks approximately 500 feet apart. This vain system cab be traced four and one half miles in a direction S 70-75 degrees east. The general dip of the vein systems appears to be vertical and any deviation from that dip only occurs at local bulges along strike. Several cross faults were noted, but movement on either side was not great.

Mineralization Comments

Dec 07, 2005 (P Beach) - Quartz chalcopyrite veins striking N75W and dipping 60S to 90. Two zones, outlined by drilling, are estimated to contain (i) 135,150 tons at 2.32% Cu across 7.0 feet in a length of 1068 feet and (ii) 75,000 tons at 1.0% Cu across 20 feet in a length of 300 feet. (ODM 1969 MRC 12 P 43-44).

Mar 15, 2023 (Sheree Hinz) - Colossus Resources Corp 2022 channel sampling returned 1.316% Cu and 0.210 grams per ton Au over 6.9 m, including 2.565% Cu and 0.419 grams per ton Au over 3.2 m. Samples were taken from mineralized quartz vein containing malachite staining and chalcopyrite.

Notes: Copper-bearing veins that occur along a NW striking fracture zone, have been traced intermittently over a total length of 5 miles. The prospects investigated are discussed below in 3 sections: (1) those in the NE 1/4 of the township, and (2) those in the NW 1/4, N of the E end of Williamson Lake, and 3 those in NW 1/4, N of W end of Williamson Lake. (1) Two parallel veins traced intermittently over a length of 12 600 feet. Both veins are up to 20 feet wide, and are 500-600 feet apart. The main prospect is at E end of the known occurances, on a north vein system, on claims S.SM. 22634 and 22642, where 2 shoots having a combined length of 960 feet, average 2.65% Cu across 5.6 feet. The 730 foot interval between shoots has been explored by 2 d.d. holes with low Cu values (ODM 1957). Drill indicated reserves are estimated at 50 000 tons grading between 2.5% and 3% Cu (Northern Miner, Feb. 21, 1963). Two zones, outlines by drilling, are estimated to contain: 135 150 tons grading 2.32% Cu across 7.0 feet in a length of 1068 feet and 75000 tons grading 1.0% Cu across 20 feet in a length of 300 feet (Northern Miner, Oct. 2, 1952). Two occurences; main one traced by drilling over length of 1400 feet. Best intersection was 1.56% Cu over 10.0 feet (File SSM-129).
