Geology Comments

Apr 22, 2016 (C Salo) - Sparsely exposed weakly metamorphosed (greenschist or lower metamorphic facies) subaqueously deposited mafic to felsic volcanic rocks of the (Archean) Kinojevis Group and diabase dikes host cherty quartz stringers, disseminated pyrite, quartz-carbonate veins, and hematite veins, all of unspecified geometry.

Mineralization Comments

Apr 22, 2016 (A Wilson) - Surface sampling in the early 60's yielded values up to 0.91 oz. Au/ 16" from a sample cut in an 8' deep pit on the extreme south-east end of the structure. Shallow x-ray drill holes put down under a portion of the surface showings in the early 70's yielded values up to 0.57 oz. Au/18". Sample 93-2 returned 0.35 ounce per ton Au over 16 inches. Sample 93-6 returned 0.26 ounce per ton Au over 8 inches. Several narrow quartz stringers with fine disseminated pyrite intersected. Only negative to very low gold values obtained. The depth projection of the vein zone intersected in DDH 275 obtained in the hole over a width of 4'. A 2' width of the zone assayed 0.26 oz. Au and 0.07 oz. Ag. The gold-bearing quartz vein appears to cross-cut the volcanic stratigraphy. Results of channel sampling carried out on exposed portions of gash veins in the showing area are shown on the DDH Location and Surface Sample Plan. The only outstanding value obtained was from a sample of vein material only which yielded 0.68 oz. Au & 0.19 oz. Ag.

Apr 22, 2016 (C Salo) - Two pyritized quartz veins, 8 inches and 11 inches in width in a brecciated sample have gold values of 0.09 and 0.19 oz/t Au. Samples from the area yielded assays as high as 1.51 and 2.94 ounce of gold per ton and anomalously elevated silver tenors across intervals of 1.5 and 1.3 feet, respectively (assessment files, Resident Geologist's Office, Kirkland Lake).
