Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - It is composed of three segments labelled Evans Creek 2, 3 and 4. Outcrop of the iron formation and enclosing rocks is rare. The three segments were likely once connected and occur at roughly the same stratigraphic position. Although it is not traceable to the west, it may be correlative with the Brant Iron Formation to the west. It has been suggested that it might be traced geophysically to relate to the Rutledge Iron Range to the east. The North Evans Creek Range occurs within the intermediate to mafic tuffs at the top of cycle tow mafic volcanism or at the base of immadture metasedimentary rocks of the Dore type. The North Evans Creek Iron Range is not a Michipicoten type iron formation.

Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - A chip sample across the no. 4 section returned 13.9% Fe, 74.78% Si and 0.36% S. The no. 3 segment averaged values of 16.5% Fe and 63.6% Si. A 60 foot section of the no. 2 segment averaged values of 16.5% Fe and 62.8% Si. From the metallurgical work conducted it was established that the magnetite was fine-grained and would be difficult to concentrate.
