Mineralization Comments

Feb 28, 2018 (Therese Pettigrew) - The mineralized zone is on Mining Location K25. It is up to 7.6 m in width and lies along the southern edge of the widest ridge-forming olivine diabase dike exposed on the property, between the dike rock itself and a 4.6 m thick diabase sill, exposed south of and below the main pit. The near-massive to disseminated, nickeliferous pyrrhotite mineralization appears to be controlled by horizontal fractures extending from the dike into the sill and by an oblique shear zone, striking N68W and dipping 77 degrees southwest and which is visible in the western edge of the slash. In the face of the open-cut a flatly-dipping quartzite band 7.6 cm in width, offset by minor faulting, appears to form the top of the exposed mineralized zone. The massive sulphide mineralization consists of coarse-grained pyrrhotite traversed by chalcopyrite and violarite veins, as identified by x-ray analysis. A grab sample collected by J. Geul of massive sulphides yielded 0.94% Cu, 0.72% Ni and 0.15 ozs/ton Ag with traces of Pd (Geul, 1973).
