Mineralization Comments

May 24, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - The Interlac occurrence is located within a lithologic unit mapped by Wood (1980) as chert-pyrrhotite iron formation. Wood (1980) describes the occurrence as consisting of pyrrhotite, pyrite, arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization that is interbanded with fine-grained quartz that was interpreted to be recrystallized chert. Bateman (1939) indicates that the occurrence was exposed in two pits over an east-west strike length of approximately 6.1 m and a width of approximately 4.6 m. Wood (1980) reports complex folding of the mineralized horizon in the vicinity of the occurrence. Bateman (1939) reported assays of 0.3 oz/ton from a grab sample and 0.07 oz/ton from an approximately 2.1 m width chip sample. A later grab sample reported by Wood (1980) only contained trace quantities of gold, 0.02% Cu and 0.01% Ni.
