Mineralization Comments

Jan 12, 2012 (Mark Puumala) - The Zione North occurrence is based on an assay of 0.04 oz/ton Au reported by Ayres (1970) from an irregular quartz pod hosted in mafic metavolcanics. This same occurrence was also mapped by Hurst (1929), who indicated the presence of native gold at this location on Map 38a. Hurst (1929) also reported that the general area of this occurrence contains numerous zones of sulphide mineralization that occur in shear zones, or in remnants of metasedimentary and/or metavolcanic rocks found within the gabbro intrusion(s). These mineralized zones are of variable width (a few cm to 6 m), and can extend for over 100 m. These mineralized zones consist of foliation-parallel streaks, patches and disseminations of pyrrhotite and pyrite with minor chalcopyrite and sphalerite. 2007 Prospecting report completed, no significant assays reported. 2011: No new information

Jan 26, 2023 (Q Unknown) - Early Precambrian slate and greenstones are intruded by Early Precambrian gabbroic to dioritic rocks. Several widely scattered mineralized zones are located in xenoliths in the intrusives and in shear zones ranging in widths from a few inches to 20 feet and traceable for up to several hundred feet. Mineralization includes pyrrhotite, pyrite, and minor amounts of chalcopyrite, sphalerite and arsenopyrite (SMDR 00580).
