Nov 21, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - The Arrowsmith No. 1 occurrence is described by Ayres (1974) as a sphalerite-galena occurrence hosted in felsic tuff. The felsic metavolcanics are reported to be foliated (070/70) and mineralized with 1 to 2% pyrite, with local pyrite concentrations of up to 15%. Mazurski (1981) reported that these rocks are light grey weathering, fine-grained and cherty, and that they are part of the same formation that hosts the nearby Berens River Mine.

Nov 21, 2014 (Mark Puumala) - The sphalerite and galena mineralization occurs at the south end of a trench and consists of massive, irregular veins up to 5 cm wide. The veins are reported to have variable orientations, but occur within an approximately 60 cm wide zone that strikes approximately 070. However, Mazurski (1981) reports that the mineralization consists of sphalerite and galena lenses that occur parallel to a pervasive 045/56 rock fabric. Mazurski (1981) also reports the presence of a schistose layer of intermediate-composition rock, whose contact with the felsic tuff has been folded around an axial plane that parallels the 045/56 schistosity. This fold is reported to plunge southwest. The mineralized zone is reported by Ayres (1974) to pinch out immediately to the west of the trench, but it is open to the east, where it is covered by overburden. The zone of mineralization is reported to contain approximately 3 to 5% sphalerite and 1 to 2% galena. However, the wall rocks adjacent to this zone only contain rare disseminated sphalerite. Up to 7.5 cm wide unmineralized glassy quartz veinlets that strike approximately 015 are reported to occur immediately southwest of the occurrence. Ayres (1974) reported that the occurrence is located approximately 60 m south of the east-trending Setting Net Creek East fault. The north-trending Setting Net Lake fault is located approximately the same distance to the west. Grab sample assay results of up to 15.6% Zn, 4.33% Pb, 3.1 oz/ton Ag and 0.02 oz/ton Au were reported from this occurrence by Ayres (1974), while Mazurski (1981) reported grab sample assays of up to 18.4% Zn, 3.23% Pb, 0.36 oz/ton Ag, and 0.63 oz/ton Au. However, a diamond drill hole advanced at this location in 1968 by W.C. Arrosmith is reported by Ayres to have been unsuccessful in attempting to intersect the mineralized zone at depth. 2007 Prospecting report completed, no significant assays reported. 2011: No new information
