The Abandoned Mines Information System (AMIS) database contains information on known abandoned mine sites and mine hazard features on both Crown and privately held lands within Ontario. Sites that are abandoned, may be in production or covered by a closure plan are in AMIS. These sites fall under the Mining Act, Aggregate Resources Act and Federal jurisdictions.
