Point Location Description: Quarry symbol 5.0 km SE of Leitrim.

Pre-1917 : quarry in a small escarpment. c1989 : the Beaver Asphalt Quarry operation consists of 3 properties - The Grant Quarry (formerly operated by Bertrand and Freres Construction) on the N half of lot 28, con 5 (licensed for 35.49 ha). The Miller Quarry (owned by M. Miller and Sons, operated by Beaver Asphalt) on the S half of lot 27, con 5 (licensed for 24.28 ha). The Beaver property, part of lots 26 and 27, con 5 (licensed for 6.07 ha). The Grant and Miller quarries were being worked as a single quarry in 1989 - the 'Ottawa Quarry' - but the Beaver property had not yet been opened. About 80 % of the crushed aggregate produced is used by the company in construction projects, the remainder is retailed (1989). Drilling was carried out by MTO on lots 27 and 28, con 5 (GDH OT-5,6) and the section is described in OGS 1991.

Dec 07, 2005 (C Papertzian) - The 13.5 m deep quarry (1989) exposes Oxford Formation dolostones. Calcite-filled vugs are common. Overburden is 1-3 m thick.
