Point Location Description: The west end of an intermittent set of trenches.
Location Method: Field Visit with GPS
Access Description: The easiest access is via boat from a landing on the north shore on the Chester Shannon Mine access road which connects to Highway 144. Alternative access is from the south via the Chester logging road and Sultan Access road which pass close to the lake. From this road a drill trail leads close to the trench.
1933: The vein was discovered by the Chester Shannon Group - Young Shannon GML and a gold value of 84 g/t ($49.50) Au was reported. An additional assay of 4.4 g/t (0.13opt) appears to pertain to this occurrence. 1965: Chester Minerals Ltd acquired the property and carried out a program of geological mapping, magnetic and HLEM electromagnetic surveying. 1973: Park Precious Metals optioned the property but no work was directed towards this occurrence. 1980 Hargor Resources together with Canadian Gold and Metal Inc carried out a regional airborne magnetic and VLF electromagnetic survey which covered the area. 1984: Chester Minerals carried out a geological evaluation of the occurrence in combination with other known occurrences on Clam Lake and resampled the mineralization with the following results 0.3 to 0.5 g/t Au and 34 to 108ppm Cu. Chester Minerals Limited - EM, Mag. 1987: Young Shannon Gold Partnership carried out a 7 hole diamond drill program to test the mineralization in the area. One of these holes was drilled near the west end of the known vein. Only trace quantities of gold were reported but the hole may have overshot the vein. 2010: Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. - AEM, AMag. 2010: Robert, P. - EM, Mag. .

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - Minor brecciation occurs along the margins of some quartz veins. Like the occurrences on Shannon and Our Islands to which this occurrence may be related, the mineralization is associated with a grain size reduction and chlorite alteration. This alteration and grain comminution may be caused by a major shear zone.

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - The host is a strongly chlorite altered granodiorite similar to the surrounding outcrops. The strong alteration is associated with the development of a strong foliation in the granodiorite.

Dec 07, 2005 (S Fumerton) - Sparse, coarse grained pyrite and hematite are associated with the quartz veining. The exposed quartz veining which is associated with calcite veining, is thin and discontinuous. Disseminated pyrite occurs in the granodiorite together with some sulphide veining.
Dec 07, 2005 (A Wilson) - At the time of discovery a gold value of 84 g/t Au was reported. Subsequent sampling in 1933 returned a value of 4.4 g/t Au. a grab sample collected by the OGS in 1980 returned a value of 6.8 g/t Au. Grab samples collected in 1999 returned values of 0.290 oz/t Au and 1.33 oz/t Au.
