Operational Access Description: Renabie Mine Was The First Post War Gold Mine And Consisted Mainly Of Two Shafts, Numerable Lateral Workings, A Mill And Related Structured, And A Large Open Pit. A Maximum Production Rate Of 584 Tonnes/day Of Gold Was Reached In 1961. During Its 50 Years Of Intermittent Activity, Renabie Mine Processed An Estimated 5.6 Million Tons Of Ore At An Average Recovered Grade Of 0.19 Ounces Per Ton To Produce 1.1 Million Ounces (31 Tonnes) Of Gold. The Renabie Mine Site Can Be Accessed By Highway 651 Leading From Highway 101 Between The Towns Of Wawa And Chapleau, Northward To The Town Of Missanabie. Renabie Mine Is Situated 80km Northeast Of Wawa And 20km East Of Missanabie. Since Rehabilitation The Mine Site Area Is Continuing To Experience Successful Natural Revegetation. The Renabie Mine Site Is Under The Closure Plan R03.
