Operational Access Description: Access: From Hwy 11b Turn Southeast Following Coleman Road To Kerr Lake Road For 3.4km And The Beaver Timiskaming Road For 4.1km (each Road Runs Into The Next); Continue South On The B-t Road To Mileage 6.2km; Turn South On Brady Lake Road And Travel 85m To Gate. Cobalt Lode: The Cobalt Lode Shaft Was Started In 1908 And Reached Its Present Depth [in 1993] Of 611' During The Early Fifties, At Which Time It Was Owned By Cobalt Consolidated Mining Corporation Ltd. Later It Was Taken Over By Agnico Mines Ltd And Presently Owned By Agnico-eagle Mines Ltd. The Shaft Was Also Used To Tap The Lower Horizons Of The Adjacent Christoper Property. 1960-1964: Mining Operations During The Period Were From Christopher Property But Ore Of Appreciable Quantity Was Hoisted From The Cobalt Lode Shaft In Conjunction With The Christopher Shafts. Production From 1917-1956 Raised 263,140 Tons Of Ore; 2,545,117 Pounds Of Cobalt; 4,493,725 Ounces Of Silver; 610,716 Pounds Of Nickel And 459,078 Pounds Of Copper. Mining Operations During 1960-1964 Were From The Chistopher Property But Ore Of An Appreciable Quantity Was Hoisted From Cobalt Lode Shaft In Conjunction With Christopher Shafts. Past Producer With 3 Shafts. Property Covered Under The Temiskaming Mine Closure Plan (c10)
