Operational Access Description: Access; Proceed Through Main Gate At Sherman Mine Taking First Road To Right Which Proceeds Up Onto Tailings Impound Area And Along East Side. This Road Cuts North Though Some Natural Bush And A Road Cut Area And Crosses A Large Rock Dam Which Transects The Crooke And Vermillion Lakes Watersheds. Vermillion Lake Is Now Filled With Fine Rock Tailings From The Sherman Mine Operation . The First Outcrop Hill On The North Side Of This Rock Dam Approx 2km From The Gatehouse Is The Start Of The Oslund-hurst Features. Proceed Sw Following The Ridge For Features 5 And 6 And Cross The Tailings To The Next Ridge To Find Other Features. Surface Prospecting Performed On Outcrops Currently Lying Inside The Sherman Mine Tailings. Gold With Pyritized Iron Formation And Pyritic Quartz Carbonate In Altered Felsic Valcanics. Features Include 2 Trenches, 4 Pits And A Muck Pile; Completed Prior To 1942. The Year 2000 Survey Reports Six Trenches/pits.
