Operational Access Description: Access; Hwy 11, 1.2km East From Mine Centre To Shoal Lake Road, Then 8.2km South To The Site. The Foundations For Mill 1 Can Be Seen To The West Of The Road. 10 Shafts Sunk; 2 Main Ones; North South, 2 Periods Of Work On Shafts; 1893-1900; 1922-1929 & 1933-1936; 3500 Oz Of Gold Mined By 1900; 1 Vein Which Is Part Of The Foley Is Referred To As The Licky Joe Vein And Has A Shaft On It; Commodity: Au; The Year 1993 Survey Reports The Foley Mine Is One Of The Larger Past Gold Producers In The Mine Centre Camp. The Site Consists Of 7 Shafts Of Various Dimension, Depth And Levels Of Development, One Stope To Surface, One Open Cut, 7 Trenches And Pits, 2 Areas Where Underground Workings Are Near Surface, 2 Surface Crown Pillars, 14 Deposits Of Waste Rock, One Small Headframe, 2 Sets Of Foundations From Mills, Several Hundred Meteres Of Lateral Workings, Several Winzes Within The Underground Workings, Extensive Stoping And Small Areas Of Stripping And Sampling. 2018 Corrective Actions: The Foley Mine Site Main Entrance Gate Fence Was Observed To Be Damaged And Missing. The Fence Was Repaired, Replaced And Secured To The Gate Post To Prevent Unauthorized Access. The Luck Joe Trench And Shaft Area Was Attended To. The Fenced Gate Was Observed To Be Unsecured. A Chain And Pad Lock Were Installed To Secure The Lucky Joe Trench And Shaft Area. Additional Observations Were Made, The Foley Site Warehouse Building And The Headframe Building Has Missing Windows. These Openings Were Sealed To Secure Both Buildings From Unauthorized Access.
