Operational Access Description: Located 70 Km Northeast Of The Town Of Ignace. Access; Travel North On Hwy 599 For Approx 60 Km To Silver Dollar. Turn East On The Mattabi/lyon Lake Division Road. Travel Approx 8.5 Km To An Unmarked Bush Road/trail On The North Side Of The Roadroad Access Of Mattabi Mine Road. Follow Trail For Approx 1 Km To Shaft. In 1935 Darkwater Mines Limited Conducted Stripping And Trenching. In 1936, A Considerable Amount Of Underground Work Was Completed On Three Levels. A Three Compartment Shaft Was Sunk To 129 M, And Levels Were Established At 38, 76 And 114 Meters. A Total Of 1,091 M Of Drifting, 149 M Of Crosscutting And 113 M Of Raising Was Completed. In 1937, A Small Test Mill, Consisting Of A Crusher And Two Stamp Mills, Was Installed To Run Bulk Samples. Operation Was Suspended In The Fall Of 1937. 1993 Site Assessment Reported The Presence Of An Open Shaft With Collapsed Headframe, A Second Surface Opening (possibly A Raise), 3 Exploration Pits, A Waste Rock Pile And Two Concrete Building Foundations. The Open Shaft And Raise Were Identified As Potential Public Safety Hazards. Mndm 2014: Headframe Has Been Dismantled And Shaft And Raise Have Been Capped.
