Operational Access Description: Access: E From Sudbury On Hwy 17 To W Side Of Stinson. Features W Of Norvic Drive. The Occurrence Was Staked By Hoyle Mining Company In 1952. In 1953 Trenching, Bulk Sampling And Diamond Drilling Was Conducted On Showing "c". Hoyle Mining Later Formed A Subsidiary Company, Northern Kyanite Mines Ltd. To Take Over The Property.; Commodity: Kyanite (as Refractory); A 20 Ton Sample Was Taken From Trench "c" In 1953. Year 2000, No Trenches Were Found That Would Have Produced A 20 Bulk Sample. It Would Appear That A Composite Sample Was Taken From Several Small Trenches And Slashes In Kyanite Bearing Outcrop Ridges. Gdif Map Lists Showing "c" As D, And Showing "d" As C. Mndm Resident Geologist Staff Visited The Area Several Years Ago And Could Not Locate Any Large Trenches. Amis Discrepancies: Mndm Assessment File Records Indicate That Sampling Was Done At Several Locations North And South Of Hwy 17. Site Assessment Visit In 2000 Located 3 Trenches.
