Operational Access Description: Access: Start At Hwy 6 & 17 On Highway 6, Drive 50.3km South Through Espanola To Little Current; Continue On Hwy 6, Drive 8.6km South; Quarries Are Visible On East-west Ridge Approx. 500m South Of Highway; Turn Onto Township Road, Drive 0.4km South; Access To Quarry Is Limited By A Locked Gate. The Quarry Was Developed In A Series Of Benches/pits (7 Benches) Over An Area Of About 91m Wide And 1280m Long. The Quarry Was Operated In 1927 And 1945 By Manitoulin Quartzite Ltd. (62,128 Tons). The Canadian Silica Corp. Operated The Quarry In The 1950's.
