Operational Access Description: No Assessment Work; See Attached Data; Commodity: Nickel,copper; The Frood-stobie Complex Consists Of Two Operating Mines That Are Mining A Nickel And Copper Ore From A Sulphide Ore Zone Using A Number Of Underground Methods. Now Ceased, Previous Open Pit Opperations Within The Closure Area Included The Frood Pit, Frood North Extension Pit, And The Stobie Pits. The Frood-stobie Complex Closure Boundary Encompasses Approximately 960ha Of Land And Is Located In The Regional Municipality Of Sudbury. The Site Is Situated In Lots 4,5,6,7, Concession Vi In Mckim Township And Lots 4,5,6,7, Concession 1 In Blezard Township. Access To The Site Is From Frood Road (regional Road 42) At The Intersection Of Lasalle Blvd And By Paved Road To Little Stobie Mine From Regional Road 80 (highway 69n). This Site Is Under The Closure Plan I17. This Site Is Part Of The Operating Frood-stobie Complex And Was Not Inspected.
