Operational Access Description: Closure Plan No. I15 Mineralization Discovered 1891 Cryderman, J.t.; Production Commenced In 1908 From The No.1 Shaft By Mond Nickel And Lasted To 1932; Production Continued From 1936 To Present; Total Production From 1908 To 1986 48,161,271 Tons, 1986 To Present No Data. In 1985 Production Commenced From A Small Open Pit; Commodity: Nickel, Copper (principal); Garson Mine Is Located In Northeastern Ontario, Approximately 15km North East Of The City Of Sudbury. The Ore Is Shipped By Truck For Further Processing At Inco's Clarabelle Mill. Following Milling, The Nickel-copper Concentrate Is Sent For Further Processing At The Copper Cliff Smelter And Copper And Nickel Refineries. Garson Mine Is Under The Closure Plan I15.
