Operational Access Description: Access: The Mine Site Is Located Approximately 8km Southeast Of The Town Of Kenora In The Bigstone Bay Area. The Majority Of The Site And Buildings Are Situated On The Northwest Part Of Sultana Island, Lake Of The Woods. The Site May Be Accessed By Boat From Kenora. History: During The Periods 1894 To 1902, 1904 To 1906, And In 1949, Some 15,977 Ounces Of Gold Were Produced From A Total Of 7481 Tons Milled. Mine Operated Intermittently From 1887-1906,and Again Between 1934 To 1935. Extensive Diamond Drilling And Prospect Trenching Was Done On The Property. Several Shafts And Open Cuts Were Made As Well. There Were 8 Levels Of Lateral Work Branching Off Of The Main 183m Shaft. The Year 1993 Survey Reports Three Shafts, Three Stopes To Surface And Open Cuts, Seventeen Mine Buldings And Structures, One Large Waste Rock Dump, One Remnant Of A Mill As Well As Extensive Lateral Workings Joining The Shafts And Open Cuts.
