Operational Access Description: Mndm Site Rehabilitation Under The Abandoned Mines Rehabilitation Program In 2015. See File. Access;proceed On Highway 588 West To Highway 593, South For 1.9km To Lakehead University Sign On The East Side. Follow A Gravel Road East 600m To A Clearing. The Trail Is To The Left Side North 150m To S-1. History: In 1885 Considerable Exploration And Development Was Carried Out. In 1886 Some Development Work Was Done In Upper Tunnel. At The Eastern End, Development Work Was Carried Out Between 1886 And 1892. On The West End, 2 Shafts And A Pit Were Sunk In 1887. The West End Was Actively Mined From 1898 To 1903, Sporadicly Mined In 1911, And Was Mined For Stucco Dressing In 1924. Development Includes Three Shafts, 80' Winze Connecting Two Level Or Tunnels, Crosscuts And 4 Pits. Vertical Depths Of Workings Extends Over 250'. From 1888 To 1902, The Value Of Silver Ore Produced Was $500,000. From About 770,000 Ounces Of Silver. 2 Shafts/2 Adits/1 Winze/4 Levels From One Shaft 1885-1903 & Intermittently 1903-1927.; Commodity: Ag,zn,pb,cu,calc,fluo; Year 2000 Survey Reports Trenches May Overrun Adits.
