Mineralization Comments

Dec 29, 2006 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is reported by Evoy (1988) to be located in close proximity to the Dona Creek Fault. The Dona Creek Fault is an 055-striking fault mapped by Pye (1976). An assay of 0.021 oz/ton was reported in a 3 m interval of sulphidized iron formation from Noramco ddh CP-88-97 (Evoy 1988). Mineralization in the gold-bearing interval is reported on the ddh log to consist of fine stringers of pyrrhotite and pyrite. Alteration within the mineralized iron formation includes carbonatization and graphite. The adjacent mafic metavolcanic rocks are reported to be strongly-foliated, carbonatized and silicified.
