Jan 16, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - The Carpenter Zone is described by Nelson (2002) as a shear-vein system hosted in granitic rocks that contain numerous mafic volcanic xenoliths. The mineralized shear zone is a subvertical 110-striking structure that is approximately 6 metres wide. The shear zone contains quartz veins and sulphide mineralization as well as biotite, sericite, carbonate and talc alteration. Nelson (2002) indicates that shearing is most pronounced at the eastern end of the zone and appears to pinch out toward the west. Nelson reports that surface sampling at this location has produced assay results of up to 1.8 g/t Au and 21.2 g/t Ag.
