Mineralization Comments

Jan 16, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - The Corner Occurrence is located in an east-west striking near-vertical shear zone and quartz vein within mafic metavolcanic rocks (Parker et al. 1995). The shear zone is reported to be approximately 1 m wide. Parker et al. (1995) indicate that the mineralized shear coincides with the hinge zone of an antiformal fold structure that plunges to the west at an angle of 20 degrees. Mineralization consisting of pyrite, chalcopyrite and sphalerite in quartz stringers was reported by Parker et al. (1995) from a sample collected from this occurrence. The most notable assays reported from this zone were 1.826 oz/ton Au and 7.185 oz/ton Ag. Parker et al. (1995) also report anomalous copper (0.56%) and zinc (0.331%) assays from this occurrence.
