Mineralization Comments

Oct 10, 2018 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is described by Bateman (1939) as a 10 to 15 cm wide massive arsenopyrite vein that fills a fracture in a body of andesite porphyry adjacent to an approximately north-south-striking metasedimentary (greywacke) contact. The mineralized vein is reported to be paralleled by an approximately 7.5 m wide zone containing a number of narrow, arsenopyrite-mineralized quartz stringers. Pyrite mineralization is also reported in the greywacke approximately 30 m south of this occurrence. Bateman (1939) reports that a 12.7 kg bulk sample of massive sulphide collected from this occurrence assayed 0.11 oz/ton Au and 72% arsenopyrite, while a grab sample assayed 0.12 oz/ton Au.
