Mineralization Comments

Jun 06, 2007 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is based on the reported occurrence of anomalous gold mineralization in Rockspan Resources diamond drill hole number NS-86-3 (AFRI# 53C10SW0013). A gold assay of 0.02 oz/ton was reported in a 0.3 m section of drill core logged as mafic to intermediate metavolcanics containing traces of pyrite and pyrrhotite. A 5 cm wide quartz stringer containing 3% chalcopyrite and sphalerite was logged 3 m below the gold mineralized section. Stratigraphy and foliation in the area of the occurrence are indicated on OGS Map 2362 (Wood 1977) to be oriented approximately 070 with near-vertical dip. This occurrence is located immediately south of the contact with the granitoid rocks of the Hawley Batholith.
