Lithology Comments

Aug 23, 2012 (A Wilson) - Unlike other veins in this area, the Chouinard trends N30W. The dip is variable ranging from 40° N to vertical. The vein varies in width from about 10 cm to 1.5 m and has been traced continuously for a strike length of 91 m, and intermittently as far as the Ogilvie vein. (R161, p. 63)

Mineralization Comments

Aug 23, 2012 (D Draper) - The vein was also trenched east of the claim boundary for TRP 2984. Sampling from these trenches returned up to $4.40 Au over 2.5ft (1938 Au value = 0.125 opt). (T-139)

Aug 23, 2012 (A Wilson) - The vein is barren over most of its length but the wall rock is mineralized near the quartz. Minor pyrite and traces of galena and chalcopyrite have been reported in the trondhjemitic wall rocks. Grab samples from the open cut returned values up to $140.00/ton (1936 value). A chip sample collected in 1944 by Aunor Gold Mines Ltd. returned 0.03 oz/t Au over 3 ft.

Alteration Comments

Jul 24, 2007 (A Wilson) - Both upper and lower contacts with the tonalite are marked by a 0.5 to 1 m wide bleached buff to brown weakly mineralized alteration halo. Locally within the alteration halo, rare specks of fuchsite appear. The biotite content of the wallrock increases towards the vein contact suggesting some potassium enrichment.
