Access Description: Travel 10 km south of Timmins on the Dalton road to the Grassy River where an ATV trail leads 12 km to Quartz Lake. Travel by boat to the west side of Canyon Lake.
1927-28: Quartz Lake Mines Ltd. - adit driven into vein on west side of Canyon Lake; sampling, drilling. 1962, 1965: Hollinger Consolidated Gold Mines Ltd. - mapping, ground geophysics, sampling. 1964: Nipiron Mines Limited - mapping, ground geophysics. 1966: Acme Gas & Oil Limited - airborne geophysics 1988: R. Garneau: airborne geophysics.1991: D. Tichinoff - ground geophysics. 2009, 2011: D.M. Lefort - manual stripping of quartz vein extending east from 8x8ft shaft on shore of east end of Quartz Lake. This shaft is 100m SW of the adit on Canyon Lake; sampling, assays; mapping.

Sep 08, 2014 (A Wilson) - The quartz vein ranges in width from a few feet at the west end to 12 feet near Quartz Lake, it is traceable for 2000 ft. The vein dips steeply to the north.

Sep 08, 2014 (A Wilson) - Assay values up to $0.80 gold were recovered from grab samples the quartz vein. A sample from a muck pile near the lake returned 0.9 oz/t Ag. Visible gold was panned from sludge from one of the drill holes. Two other samples from the dump reportedly returned values of: 5.38% Cu, 3.54% lead, 1.2 oz/t silver and $0.60 gold; and 21.89% Pb, 0.98% Cu, 5.8 oz/t Ag and $0.40 Au. A sample taken by Lefort in 2009 from the mouth of the shaft on the east shore of Quartz Lake assayed 2.74% Cu.
