Access Description: From Hwy 11, travel east through Bourkes to the end of the road. Travel about 3 miles to the southeast on bush roads and ATV trails leads to the claim block. The sample was collected about 75 m north of Webash Lake.



Exploration History

1922: Challenger and Height of Land Niagra Falls Syndicate - stripping, trenching and sampling of quartz veins. 1924-1925: Ontario Gold Veins Limited - sunk a 50 ft shaft on the Cabin Vein and drove a 14 ft cross cut to expose 8 feet of vein. Assays between 0.01 and 0.40 ounce per ton Au. A 50 ft shaft was sunk on the Jumbo Vein 7300 feet on strike to the east of the Cabin Vein 1937: Kinika Gold Mines dewatered and sampled the Cabin Vein. Samples from the walls of the shaft averaged 0.16 ounce per ton Au over 15 ft. 1972: Ajax Minerals Limited completed a small trenching program over the Cabin Vein. 1974: Consolidated Beaumont Resources Limited completed mag, VLF-EM and a 2860-ft 8-hole diamond drilling program. Assays up to 0.30 ounce per ton Au over 4.5 feet. 1980: Cedar Ridge Explorations Ltd. completed mag, VLF-EM and limited stripping. 1984: Premier Explorations completed stripping, trenching and sampling over the Jumbo Vein and limited work on the Cabin and Toast veins. 1986: Longbow Lake Exploration Syndicate completed basal till sampling over the 3 veins. 1988: Utah Mines Limited completed geological mapping, IP, mag, VLF-EM and a 9-hole diamond drilling program. 1996: Gilbert, Lavoie and St. Pierre completed stripping, assaying and dewatering of the Kinika Shaft (Cabin Vein) and mapping, stripping and sampling around the other 2 veins. Sample 177775 collected from a 1 inch qv in a granite about 75 north of the lake assayed 0.049 ounce per ton Au.
