Access Description: The area can be readily reached by Highway 566 which leads from Matachewan to the Ashley Mine and on across the north part of the Claims group and joins Highway 560 at a point just east of Shining Tree.

Oct 08, 2014 (J Suma-Momoh) - The quartz vein has a width up to 18 inches, and is traceable for 150 feet. It strikes N 35° W and dips 45° SW. It appears to be associated with a porphyry dyke with the same strike. A grab sample of the quartz containing some pyrite showed a trace of gold on assay. The vein is believed to be located about 600 feet north of McCollum Lake.

Oct 08, 2014 (J Suma-Momoh) - One drill hole put down on this vein (quartz vein) by Prestige Mines Ltd. intersected 2 feet (66.9 - 68.9 ft) of 0.02 ounce of gold per ton. The same drill hole also gave 0.01 oz/t Au over 1.6 ft (68.9 - 70.5), and 0.005 oz/t Au over 1.5 ft (70.5 - 72.00). . In 2002, Phoenix Matachewan Mines Inc. collected a sample of quartz vein from an old trench in the vicinity of the drill hole. The sample returned 0.6 g/t gold. A sample collected by Rickaby returned a trace of gold on assay.
