Mineralization Comments

Mar 11, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is described by Talbot (1996a) as a pyrite-mineralized (2%) zone of silicification that is hosted in a sequence comprised of gabbroic metavolcanic flows and metasedimentary rocks. Dignard (1991) noted that this silicified zone is located in close proximity to a northeast-striking structure referred to by Talbot (1996) as the Last Lake shear zone. Dignard (1991) reported a number of anomalous (>100 ppb) gold assays from this area, with the most significant being 1053 ppb.
