Mar 12, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is based on anomalous gold assays reported from Dome Exploration diamond drill hole number 188-8A (AFRI# 53B06NW0005). This drill hole was advanced to test a magnetic anomaly shown on Dome Exploration magnetometer survey map number 83-198 (Racic, 1983). This magnetic anomaly occurs in a folded iron formation unit that is overlain by a thick layer of overburden. The magnetic data shown on the Dome Exploration maps (Racic, 1983) indicate that the axial plane of the fold strikes approximately 300. Diamond drill hole 188-8A was drilled parallel to the interpreted fold axial plane. Assays of 0.68 g/t Au were reported over intervals of 0.79 and 0.83 m from a unit of iron formation that was intersected between 84.87 and 94.36 m. The iron formation was described as red and black thinly-banded iron formation. The bands were reported to be contorted, with minor calcite stringers and negligible sulphides.
