Mineralization Comments

Mar 12, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - Timoshenko and Corkery (1989) reported an assay of 934 ppb Au (with a check assay of 399 ppb) at this location from a grab sample of weakly-sheared mafic metavolcanic flows containing quartz veinlets. No sulphide mineralization was noted in the sampled material. The area of shearing found in this outcrop was reported to coincide with a very weak east-trending magnetic anomaly. Timoshenko and Corkery (1989) reported that the rocks in the vicinity of this occurrence consist largely of massive and pillowed mafic to intermediate metavolcanics. Foliation generally trends west to west-northwest with sub-vertical dip.
