Mineralization Comments

Mar 12, 2008 (Mark Puumala) - This occurrence is found in one of a series of discontinuous northeast- to east-trending shear zones that cross-cut the host gabbro intrusion in an area located to the north and east of Wesley Lake (Piroshco, Breaks and Osmani 1989). The Jardine (MDI53A05NW00002) and Tex showings (MDI53A05NW00006), respectively located to the west and east, are associated with the same series of structures. Mineralization associated with these shears is reported by Piroshco, Breaks and Osmani (1989) to typically be associated with pods of massive to disseminated arsenopyrite and foliation-subparallel quartz-pyrite-pyrrhotite veins and veinlets. Breaks, Osmani and DeKemp (1987) reported a grab sample assay of 850 ppb Au from an arsenopyrite-mineralized quartz vein at this location, while Londry (1984) reported a grab sample assay of 1904 ppb from an east-northeast-trending quartz vein hosted in gabbro. No significant gold assays were reported from samples collected from this area by Joliffe (1987) or Talbot (1996).
